Quercetin is an antioxidant flavonoid found in many plants and foods. Taking quercetin can help with your allergies.

(This is also helpful to prevent Covid or reduce symptoms if you get it.)

Water Retention?

Water Retention?

Try These 4 Remedies

Have you been retaining water? There’s a lot you can do to improve bloating, swelling and the appearance of weight gain due to water retention.

Water retention, or edema as it is also known, occurs when water is retained in body tissues. Normally, fluid is drained from the body through the lymphatic system, which is a network of tubes or vessels that run throughout the body. It removes waste and empties it back into the bloodstream. But there is retention of water when the lymphatic system does not remove fluids properly. Then we see swelling in the abdomen, thighs, hands, feet or arms.

How to Lower Cholesterol Naturally

According to a study published June 10, 2013 in the journal Mayo Clinic Proceedings antidepressants and cholesterol-reducing drugs are the two categories of prescription drugs most widely used among patients ages 50 to 64, and their use is likely to increase as people age into Medicare eligibility.

One in four boomers has a statin prescription.

The study, by a team of researchers from the Mayo Clinic and the Olmsted Medical Center, looked at a year’s worth of prescription drug data from the clinics’ Minnesota home county. Within the boomer age group, 30% of men and 22% of women had prescriptions for “antilipemic agents,” the category of drug that includes the cholesterol-fighting drugs statins (among which Lipitor and its generic equivalents are the biggest sellers). That made such drugs the most widely used medications in that age group. Meanwhile, 26% of women and 13% of men had prescriptions for antidepressants during the period studied.

3 Signs You Need A Sugar Detox

3 Signs You Need A Sugar Detox

Does Sugar Have a Hold on You?

1. Once you start eating sugary foods, you just can’t stop.

This is almost a sure sign you have an addiction to sugar. Here’s the scenario: you intended to eat only one piece of your favorite sweet, but once you finish that, you want more. And that isn’t enough. Before you know it, you’ve eaten the whole thing and you still want more. Like a morning-after hangover, you have feelings of regret immediately after downing the last piece.

2.  You crave simple carbs.

Though not sweet, you crave bread, bagels, muffins, croissants, white rice, potatoes, or crackers. Starchy foods are a must have food. These foods turn to sugar easily and feed your sugar addiction.  They’re just sneakier because they aren’t sweet.

3.    You eat sweets until you feel sick.

Have you ever eaten so many sweets that you get symptom such as headaches, gas, bloating, foggy brain, fatigue, irritability, or sleepiness?  These can be symptoms of a sugar hangover. How often do you do this? You know that bingeing on sugar will make you feel this way but you do it anyway. The short-term mini high of eating the cake, cookies, or chocolate blinds you from the unpleasant aftereffects.
