De-stress: “The Happy Heart Response”

Stress, which we all encounter, increases the body’s main stress hormone cortisol, while decreasing levels of DHEA, otherwise known as the anti-aging or vitality hormone. According to The American Institute of Stress, up to 80 percent of health problems can be related to stress. Did you know that an imbalance of the cortisol/DHEA ratio (high cortisol; low DHEA) are associated with the following conditions:

  • Obesity
  • Diabetes
  • Hypertension
  • Heart disease
  • Cancer
  • Alzheimer’s disease
  • Insomnia
  • Accelerated aging and impaired skin elasticity
  • Impaired memory and learning
  • Reduced bone density and muscle tone
  • Impaired immune system
  • Impaired metabolism
  • Increased fat on waist, hips, and thighs
  • Impaired liver function; increased cholesterol (there is a correlation between the two)
  • Impaired pancreas function; increased blood sugar, which can lead to diabetes

Sunlight Saunas’ BIG Anniversary Promo

Sunlight Saunas’ BIG Anniversary Promo

SAUNA DETOX & BIG SAUNA GIVEAWAY

I have a friend who had cancer. In her hours of desperation and intense prayer, she heard one word—-sweat.  Really, she thought. Turns out that was wisdom from God. So sweat she did along with many other natural interventions. She’s now cancer free.

So why is sweating so important? Plain and simple… it helps you flush out toxins, especially plastic toxins that your body just can’t seem to push out any other way. And the best way to sweat is to use a sauna.  A plethora of anecdotal evidence exists to show that infared saunas help people detoxify their bodies, increase their energy, and heal chronic diseases. But there’s also science to support their effectiveness as well. In  2009 a Canadian researcher found the following:

  • Four different studies showing infared saunas helpful in treating cardiovascular disease.
  • Five studies supporting infared sauna in treating coronary risk factors.
  • One study supporting infared sauna treating chronic pain.

Stress and Your Heart

Stress and Your Heart

De-Stress and Live From a Happy Heart

Stress can cause a lot of physical problems including heart issues. “A stressful situation sets off a chain of events. Your body releases adrenaline, a hormone that temporarily causes your breathing and heart rate to speed up and your blood pressure to rise. These reactions prepare you to deal with the situation — the “fight or flight” response. When stress is constant, your body remains in high gear off and on for days or weeks at a time. Although the link between stress and heart disease isn’t clear, chronic stress may cause some people to drink too much alcohol which can increase your blood pressure and may damage the artery walls.” (https://www.heart.org/en/healthy-living/healthy-lifestyle/stress-management/stress-and-heart-health)

The Power Of Enzymes

The Power Of Enzymes

Enzymes That Really Do Grow Hair

Systemic enzymes benefit your entire system. But specifically the enzymes I take and recommend help your body break down undigested proteins that circulate in the system. More digested protein means more availability for your hair and nails. These enzymes have actually helped me grow hair back. There was a time when my hair really thinned out. It all started when I started enjoying wine. It was too much sugar for my system. This caused my hair to fall out at an alarming rate. When I discovered the enzymes I’m recommending today, my hair started growing back. It also got thicker and stronger. And it broke less often.

Red Juices for Healing Lymphatic System, Adrenals, Kidneys and Heart

Red Juices for Healing Lymphatic System, Adrenals, Kidneys and Heart

For hope and healing Monday, I want to focus on red juices for healing.

The color red (and purple) is associated with the adrenal glands, the lymphatic system, and the kidneys. Red foods also nourish the heart. When you think of red produce (tomatoes, berries, cherries, pomegranate, beets, purple cabbage, and cranberries), the nutrient that stands out is lycopene, which is a carotenoid that is a powerful antioxidant associated with reduced cancer risk,  especially prostate cancer. It is also associated with reduced risk of heart attacks. Many red fruits and vegetables are also rich in vitamin C, beta-carotene, folate, and flavonoids, which have been shown to reduce inflammation. Cranberries are a good source of tannins, which prevent bacteria from sticking to cells; hence they are important in fighting infections. They are the reason cranberry juice is a standard treatment for bladder infections.
